Kendal is trained and certified by the International Association of Kambo Practitioners (IAKP). She offers ceremonies integrated with pranayama (breathwork), meditation, yoga nidra (deep relaxation), Reiki, Crystal Alchemy Sound Healing Bowls, and Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar.
Experienced in a number of different traditional ways to serve Kambo and work with the Meridians, the Chakras, Nadis and Marma Points and even the ears (Auricular Kambo). She has also studied new techniques to administer Kambo in a way that is more gentle on their system but still allows them to enjoy the maximum benefits.
Kambo is a traditional medicine that has been used for thousands of years by many indigenous cultures in the Amazon. Kambo was given to hunters to help them to be swift, strong, and focused. Hunters would use it for endurance in the hunt and for a deeper connection to their intuition. Amazonian tribes have also traditionally used Kambo to clear "Panema" which means any kind of negative energy. Panema is blamed for illness, bad luck, depression, laziness, irritation, and other adverse states. Kambo circulates in the heart and helps clear physical and mental blocks. It is used to increase the bodys natural ability to heal itself by eliminating toxins through the lymphatic system and fortifying the immune system. Known as the vaccine of the forest, Kambo has also gained recognition outside of the Amazon as a powerful healing modality.
The element that transforms matter into energy and light. An awesome force of nature that our ancestors learned to create with their own hands to survive and thrive. Together we will harness the power of manifestation in its most primitive form.
Over the course of our day, we will weave the elements and techniques to create a coal for a fire with the skills to create and ignite the goals - to set your life on fire. You will walk away with your own fire-making bow drill kit made out of native Hawaiian Hau tree, and all the skills to make a fire with sticks. We will explore the lineage of fire starting and delve into the fire as a creation myth with a focus on Hawaiian stories and myths and how to weave our history into the present moment.
We begin with an embodied meditation to arrive in full presence + open our senses as the gateway to our essential Self. From here, we share 3 rounds of tea in meditative silence as a collective group. We close with an integrative and cleansing round of hot water and open the space for sharing & mindful conversation. Each tea sit invokes the element of the current season, inviting connection to the natural world beyond ourselves.
Is a current student of Anna Chitty’s at The Colorado School of Energy Studies--in her Verbal Skills Blueprint Resonance class, and the Biodynamic Craniosacral training, graduation was set for July 2020, but has been delayed due to COV-19. Somatic Experiencing saved my life in 2013 and I continue to receive SE based therapies. I have been invited twice by the founder of Somatic Experiencing—Peter Levine—to speak about my healing experience combining Somatic Experiencing with my own experience utilizing ritual, ceremony, myth and archetype to heal. The most recent talk was for his master class “Archetypes and Developmental Trauma” February 2020 where I told my personal healing story woven in with the Greek myth of “Demeter and Persephone”, along with the myths of “Medusa and Perseus” and “Psyche and Eros” as examples of how stories are roadmaps for healing that arise out of the Essential or Archetypal realm and are told through the body’s instinctual impulses and gestures.
I study with master storyteller and Jungian analyst Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés—author of “Women Who Run With The Wolves,” in her Heart of the Wounded Healer Training. I also learn, whenever I can, from Stargazer Li—an astrologer/astronomer whose presence and weaving of indigenous and ancient world views into our current Here and Now continues to inform the way I understand myth and the importance of becoming fully embodied to move beyond our current self and human-centric ways.
